Arrival by your own means in Figueres.
This city is known worldwide for being the birthplace of the eccentric painter Salvador Dalí. We can discover his surrealist universe by visiting the Dalí Theatre-Museum. Considered Dalí's last great work, everything has been designed and thought out by the artist to allow the visitor to immerse himself in his fascinating universe.
The center of Figueres also offers a large open-air commercial space that extends through the historic streets of the city. It is the ideal place to take a walk in the late afternoon and discover the old church of Sant Pere and other buildings of interest, or simply to better feel the atmosphere of Figueres.

Today we go to Cap de Creus, considered the largest uninhabited area of the Spanish Mediterranean coast. This large desert allows you to practice many outdoor activities, such as hiking or cycling. Cap de Creus is also very popular among divers thanks to a still virgin coastline, a mixture of small coves, steep cliffs and transparent waters that facilitate the admiration of an important representation of Mediterranean fauna and flora.
At the end of this haven of peace, you'll find the small town of Cadaquès, isolated for a long time from the rest of the world, facing the sea, which explains its important fishing culture, which we can find in its gastronomy. Many painters and writers were also attracted by the charm and beauty of this town and its wild nature. Among them, Salvador Dalí decided to establish his permanent residence there and made Cadaqués famous throughout the world by immortalizing it in most of his paintings. Today it is possible to visit his house in Port Lligat.

In the direction of Tossa de Mar, we will have the opportunity to discover the rich historical heritage of the Empordà. The ruins of Empuries are the only archaeological site in the entire Iberian Peninsula where traces of Greek and Roman origin are found in the same place. For those who prefer medieval times, there are many towns that testify to this time through their streets and stone buildings. We can mention in particular the towns of Peratallada and Pals, which are considered two of the most beautiful towns on the Costa Brava.
Ceramic lovers can discover the entire ceramic tradition of Bisbal d'Empordà by visiting a ceramics workshop or doing some shopping. For those who prefer food and wine, there are many options in the area. From anchovies from l'Escala to prawns from Palamós, passing through wines from the DO Empordà or Catalan cider, the offer is endless! It is possible to participate in different experiences, show-cookings and/or guided tours to discover local flavors in person. Along the way, we recommend that you make a stop in Calella de Palafrugell, an old fishing village that has preserved all the charm of yesteryear.

We can start the day with a walk through Tossa de Mar. This fishing village on the Costa Brava has origins dating back to the Palaeolithic. It offers an incredible heritage, from Roman remains, to an impressive fortified medieval center, but also modernist memories, witnesses of the passage of numerous artists and intellectuals of the time through the city.
We then head to Girona, considered one of the leading cities in Spain in terms of quality of life. After being besieged thirteen times between 1295 and 1809, and after having repelled Napoleon's troops three times, Girona is a city steeped in history and full of charm thanks to its historic center and its innumerable medieval buildings, as well as numerous Roman, Arab and Jewish vestiges. As the capital of the province of the same name, Girona also offers a multitude of alternatives, that represent local gastronomy, with options for all palates and budgets.
In the afternoon we discover La Garrotxa, where we will see the most characteristic volcanic landscape of the Iberian Peninsula. The Garrotxa Volcanic Natural Park has a total of around forty volcanic cones and more than twenty lava flows. The orography, the soil and the climate are at the origin of a varied vegetation, often exuberant with forests of oaks, common oaks and beech forests of exceptional landscape value. A total of eleven municipalities make up this volcanic area, including Castellfollit de la Roca or Rupit i Pruit, which are undoubtedly worth a visit.

On the way to Montseny we stop in Vic, the capital of the Osona region. In this welcoming and lively city, historic buildings and new trends coexist in harmony. Many times we refer to Vic as the City of Markets ... and Vic has a very diverse commercial offer such as the Saturday market, the medieval market but also the market of the senses. This city is also known for its tasty sausages, very representative of the local gastronomy, together with the "pa de pessic".
We continue the day in the Montseny Natural Park. Located about 60 kilometers from Barcelona, this park was declared a Biosphere Reserve in 1978. It can be visited on foot, by bicycle or on horseback, with or without a guide. You can also enjoy the different viewpoints of the park where you'll enjoy impressive scenery.

The construction of the first railway line in Spain is a big reason why many barcelonans have chosen this coast as a vacation spot. Modernist buildings were built mainly between 1880 and 1930 and can also be admired in many coastal towns.
Wine lovers can complete the catalan wine route by visiting a DO Alella winery with a tasting. This Denomination of Origin is one of the oldest in the entire Iberian Peninsula, despite having a small area of only 223 hectares. Finally, archeology fans can go to Badalona to visit the Roman city of Baetulo, which existed between the 1st century B.C. until the 6th century AD.

With origins dating back to the Iberian era (7th-6th centuries BC), Barcelona is today the administrative and economic capital of Catalonia. With a mild Mediterranean climate, Barcelona is a city that can be visited all year round and is the ideal end point to round off our trip.
We will be able to discover the modernist architecture of Gaudí, lose ourselves in the small pedestrian streets of the Gothic Quarter and El Born, try the Catalan flavors in the Boquería Market or in a tapas bar. We will only need to let ourselves go and experience the atmosphere of Barcelona with all five senses, immersing ourselves in the catalan culture.
